Any time you’re choosing a new dentist, there are some basic things you need to look for. You want to be sure you trust the dentist and team you’re going to work with. Choosing an Invisalign dentist is no different. Even though Invisalign is a specific type of orthodontic therapy, you don’t necessarily have to see an orthodontist to get the treatment. If your dentist has gone through the appropriate training channels to become an Invisalign certified provider, you can complete all of your dental care under the same roof!
Our dentist at Preston Dental Loft, is wildly passionate about providing the best Invisalign care in the area. Dr. Meenal Patel did her research while in dental school, at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, with Invisalign. She was honored to present her research at the American Academy of Dental Research Annual Symposium. She became Invisalign certified in 2007 along with graduating dental school. Since then, she has taken over 1,000 hours of continuing education with this technology and strives to provide the best, most technologically advanced care to her clients! Let’s start straightening your teeth!
Invisalign® treatment has multiple components – the assessment, the digital scan, the aligners, the number of dentist-performed adjustments. A typical range is $4,000 to $7500. More importantly, is what are you getting – one price may be less than another, but may be limited to the number of aligners, or the number of dentist lead adjustments. Comparing only the dollar figure without understanding exactly what you are getting is critical to ensure you are getting the best value for your smile.

There are also Healthcare Spending Accounts (FSA or HSA). Some employers offer these to employees and can be used towards various types of healthcare spending – including Invisalign®. Contact your company's Human Resources department to learn more.
No. The clear aligners made for your smile are determined by your custom treatment plan which is done by a doctor. Having a doctor administer the treatment plan is also the reason for the high satisfaction rate of the results achieved. If at any time during your treatment, your smile is not tracking the doctor can adjust and maintain course for the desired result. If not done by a doctor, you could experience serious complications, delays, or even damage your teeth!
The length of treatment depends on the severity of your case. However, the average case takes about 11-12 months. But, with the techniques Dr. Patel uses - to make Invisalign work better; it also makes that same 11-month average case go quicker, usually taking just 1/2 as long (down to only 6 months)!! Our patients rave about how easy and fast our Invisalign treatments are.
Virtually impossible. The process for Invisalign® is directed and has oversight by a doctor. The instructions are simple and straightforward. We make it fool proof and our dedicated team is available to answer any questions along the way.
In most cases it can be the same, if not cheaper. Our fee at Preston Dental Loft, is typically significantly cheaper than traditional metal braces!
Invisalign is a clear, virtually invisible, alternative to metal braces. Invisalign straightens teeth just like braces, but Invisalign aligners come with less restrictions than braces. Invisalign allows you to eat whatever foods you enjoy and brush and floss normally. Most importantly, why wear a mouth full of metal when you can do the same things (in the right hands) for less money while in clear esthetic trays? :-)
Both braces and Invisalign help to straighten your teeth, and in many cases, the better choice depends on your specific situation. Many people prefer Invisalign because there are less restrictions in terms of eating, they are less visible, and they may be more comfortable.
Invisalign itself does not whiten your teeth. There are several options we have for teeth whitening. Some of them may include whitening treatments during your Invisalign treatment as well!! Let us know if you’re interested in learning more about how we can achieve this!
Invisalign® takes a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of aligners created for you and only you! These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable, clear, and virtually invisible plastic (BPA free) that you wear over your teeth. Wearing the aligners will gradually shift your teeth into place. You will start a new set of aligners on a regular customized schedule to best fit your needs, until your treatment is completed. We use a digital iTERO scanner to avoid any goopy molds or impressions of your teeth!
According to 9 million people worldwide, yes it does! (footnote: Data on file at Align Technology, as of October, 2020.) Invisalign therapy is directed and performed under the care of your dental provider - it’s a safe treatment especially when you’re working with a highly trained dentist like Dr. Meenal Patel.
Yes, totally! The aligners are pretty thin and virtually invisible - you can kiss with them on - your partner may not even notice!
Not necessarily. Your customized treatment plan will address such changes. For instance, if your treatment plan will address an underbite, then correcting that will also affect the silhouette of your jawline.
No way! We recommend you take your aligners out to brush and floss your teeth at least twice per day.
Not many disadvantages - mostly ALL advantages! Keep in mind - you are responsible for wearing your clear aligners for at least 22 hours a day. With traditional metal braces they are fixed semi-permanently into your mouth, with no option to remove so you will never forget putting them in. Our team helps you through the entire process with Invisalign - leave it to us!
Teeth do have a tendency to shift after treatment - most people that had braces in the past and have not worn their retainer for years - may have noticed this as well! We include a custom retainer that will help keep your smile from shifting as part of your treatment .
At the end of your treatment, when you and Dr. Patel are happy, you will be provided with a FREE set of upper and lower retainers. You will wear the retainers in the beginning for 22 out of 24 hours a day, for 3 months until your teeth’s position firms up. Then you will wear the retainers every night for as long as you want your teeth to remain straight - we suggest FOREVER! And you will replace retainers a minimum of every two years to prevent them from stretching and your teeth shifting. Retainers will also help prevent damage from grinding and/or clenching, which most adults do yet most are unaware. In addition, they make great whitening trays!
Unlike braces, your Invisalign aligners can be removed. This helps facilitate cleaning, which leads to better health. However, if you don’t wear them, they won’t work. If you don’t wear them enough, they won’t work well. We find that most patients can eat any diet they choose during treatment. It takes about a week to get used to this. However, we do recommend you stay away from curry, turmeric, and yellow mustard since they irreversibly stain the trays. If you must enjoy foods that cause this stain, we recommend you do so on the last day of that tray. This means you don’t need to restrict your diet habits, just as long as you wear your trays for 22 hours a day.
With Dr. Patel’s years of expert experience and training, Invisalign can work for almost all types of cases! Call or schedule an online FREE consultation to determine how well Invisalign can work for you! Schedule a Virtual Consultation with us!!
